Hopefully you are reading this as you are planning on or thinking about playing with the ILLIANA THUNDERBOLTS this season.
The ILLIANA THUNDERBOLTS are entering into their 17th year playing travel baseball. Unlike many of the new breed of “in-house travel teams” or “rec-ball travel teams” the ILLIANA THUNDERBOLTS are an Independent Travel Program with no secret hidden agenda other than providing excellent fundamental baseball instruction.
Do not get confused or fooled by the newly formed dozens of Little League or Cal Ripken teams that “ALSO” have travel teams. They
are not the same…
We are in the process of building our 2020 roster.

Q: How far does the team travel to for games & tournaments?
A: UNLIKE MANY TEAMS WE STAY PRETTY CLOSE TO HOME, USUALLY ABOUT A 25 MILES RADIUS FROM THE I80/I94 INTERSECTION. WE MAY DO ONE OVERNITE TOURNAMENT IN JULY IF THE PARENTS DECIDE THEY WANT TO DO THAT.
Q: Where and when are the practices held?
A: SINCE we do play a lot of games and some of the players also play on a second team and the weather in the spring can be iffy and school is still going on and most parents work during the week, we try to limit practices to a limited number of days. Our practices are scheduled to enhance and fine tune the game/tournament performances. Our practice field is located at 19051 S. Halsted in Glenwood, Il.
